Biography:

Dr. Ivan G. Murray is a highly educated and experienced physician in the field of radiology and phlebology. He is considered to be one of central Florida's most respected leaders in medical imaging, vascular and interventional procedures and vein treatment therapy.

Originally from Jamaica, Dr. Murray grew up in Miami where he attended high school. During his senior year, he worked in the Radiology Department of a local hospital. This small exposure at a young age facilitated a tremendous interest on his part that would one day allow him the opportunity to fulfill his dream of becoming a physician and a radiologist.

After high school, he went on to complete his undergraduate studies at Miami Dade Community College (one of the most prestigious community colleges in the country) where he graduated with honors and was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. He later achieved his bachelor's degree from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana .

His medical education commenced at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. This was followed by a rotating internship at the Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia and subsequent diagnostic imaging residency at the prestigious King-Drew / UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.

Upon completion of his residency training, he entered the United States Air Force as Chief of Diagnostic Services at Homestead Air Force Base in Homestead, FL. During his tenure Dr. Murray developed the first significant cost-efficient department. Prior to completing his tour of duty, he also procured the first CT scanner for the medical facility. For his many contributions, Dr. Murray was given the Meritorious Service Medal on his departure.

He departed the United States Air Force, and completed a vascular and interventional fellowship at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. Highly recruited by the Rio Grande Regional Hospital, McAllen, TX; Dr. Murray developed the first complete Vascular and Interventional surgical section in the Rio Grande Valley. This provided Imaging and Surgical services for McAllen and the surrounding communities with patients traveling as far as Harlingen, Brownsville and northern Mexico .

Dr. Murray returned to the Sunshine State and joined Dr. Anthony Rosa at the Heart of Florida Hospital located in Haines City, FL. this prestigious Facility is now in Davenport Fl. At the hospital, he pioneered the vascular and interventional service, where he still performs procedures in addition to his facility at A.T. Radiology Davenport. His repertoire of expertise now includes phlebology. Dr. Murray currently handles patient care, imaging services and other related procedures for A.T. Radiology.

He is the founder and director of the first Vein Diagnosis and Treatment Center in east Polk county, located at the A.T. Radiology Davenport facility.

In his leisure, he enjoys the company of his 18-year-old daughter, a soon-to-be published writer who has penned over 300 poems. An interesting passion of Dr. Murray is his love for restoring and customizing both classic and modern automobiles. When he is not burning rubber, he engages in traveling to exotic locales and listening to a wide variety of music.
