The Vein Diagnosis and Treatment Center was created and developed by highly respected physician Dr. Ivan G. Murray in January 2003.
Over the years, Dr. Murray observed that there were no real venous disorder facilities dedicated to the reduction and elimination of vein diseases for residents in Polk County . After determining that there was a strong enough need for those services in the region, he established the Vein Diagnosis and Treatment Center at the beautiful A. T. R. facility in Davenport , Florida . The Center was the first of its kind to provide specialized services to patients with venous diseases that had symptoms including leg pain, aching, throbbing and restless legs.
The most common reason for venous diseases is a reduction or stoppage of the flow of blood inside the veins. This can be due in part to non-functioning valves, an abnormal flow into the Saphenous vein and/or inadequate passage through the veins. As a result, an accumulation of blood in the legs, leg pain, swelling, numbness and discoloration can occur. This eventually will create what is commonly known as “varicose and spider veins”.
While most traditional surgical procedures, like vein stripping, tend to be quite invasive and uncomfortable, the procedures performed at the Vein Diagnosis and Treatment Center are less painful, less intrusive and requires no rehabilitation. The patients are able to have their procedure performed on an outpatient basis and many are able to return to work the same day. Their regular routine can be maintained with a recommended walking regimen after the procedure.
In the past, venous diseases were not the first thing that were diagnosed in patients with leg discomfort or pain. This has since changed as physicians now recognize venous diseases as a significant factor in creating these symptoms. The procedures performed for venous stasis disease is not new and has been around for over 2,000 years. The procedures have recently become very popular again and have led to a rebirth in the field. There are now more people seeking treatment since most surgeons no longer do the traditional vein stripping procedure.
At the Vein Diagnosis and Treatment Center , it is our commitment to be the best that we can be and provide excellent service to our patients and the community. We make great legs, one pair at a time!
